PROG ROCK ITALIA Series
Just to reiterate the basics: progressive rock is the term most commonly used to define the fusion that in the second half of the 1960s connected rock 'n' roll with classical music, both traditional classical (Beethoven, Wagner, Ravel, Puccini, Mussorgsky) and contemporary electronic music (Stockhausen, Berio, Nono, Varese). Naturally, this blend of influences included more or less successful marriages with popular culture, psychedelia, jazz, blues, hard rock, and singer-songwriter music. Progressive rock enjoyed its heyday in the 1970s, but it still has many international fans today, and Prog Rock Italia presents many of its most important works. The series features bands that have released several classics, as well as others that split up after just one album, yet still left a lasting impression: Il Balletto di Bronzo, Il Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, La Locanda delle Fate, Le Orme, Il Baricentro, Saint Just, Jumbo, Sensation's Fix, Latte e Miele, De De Lind, Ibis, Gruppo D'Alternativa, Madrugada, Grosso Autunno, L'Uovo di Colombo, and Stradaperta.
