Sensations' Fix – Finest Finger
The Prog Rock Italia Series continues with the reissue of Finest Finger, the fourth album by Sensations' Fix, a musical project led by Tuscan Franco Falsini, an eclectic musician constantly oriented towards electronic research and experimentation. The band immediately stood out for the international scope of their compositions, not only for their use of the English language but above all for their ongoing musical exploration: Sensations' Fix stood out in the Italian Progressive Rock scene for the distinctive musical style conceived by Falsini, who loved the electronic sounds of German bands, experimented with keyboards and synthesizers, and added electronic effects and space-age guitars. Finest Finger was released in 1976 following the three albums released in 1974: Fragments of Light, Sensations' Fix (a promotional album that misspelled the band's name), and Portable Madness, considered by many to be the group's true debut. The eight compositions on Finest Finger also marked a marked shift, featuring more elaborate vocals and delicate acoustic guitar atmospheres intertwined with the usual electronic backgrounds and cosmic effects. This time, Sensations' Fix's space-prog takes a decidedly more accessible turn: a stylistic choice that maintains its musical essence intact while at the same time leading to an excellent sonic evolution.
