De De Lind – I Don't Know Where I Come From And I Don't Know Where I'm Going. Man Is The Name They Gave Me

The Prog Rock Italia Collection continues with the first and only album by De De Lind. The group formed in the second half of the 1960s and released three pop-beat singles between 1969 and 1971. Curiously, the band's name is a tribute to a model, Diane (DeDe) Lind, Miss Playboy in 1967. They are a quintet from Lombardy consisting of Vito Paradiso (guitar and vocals), Matteo Vitolli (keyboards, guitar and flute), Gilberto Trama (keyboards), Eddy Lorigiola (bass) and Ricky Rebajoli (drums). After an intense live activity and the release of singles, they finally arrive at this debut album, which has a very long title: Io non so da dove vengo e non so dove mai andro. Uomo è il nome che mi hanno dato (Man is the name they gave me) was released by Mercury in 1972. The album was not initially appreciated, especially by music critics, but was later rediscovered by enthusiasts who placed it among the most successful episodes of Italian Prog, going so far as to define it as a perfect album from both a vocal and instrumental point of view.
